Frequently Asked Questions
I'm new to massage therapy. What can I expect?
At Bodywork Las Vegas, you can always expect professional and courteous care. When you arrive to our office, you will have an opportunity to complete and intake form. Be sure to note or address any issues or concerns about your health or areas you would like attention. Your therapist will also discuss any concerns with you. During the massage, you will always be fully draped (i.e. covered) by sheets, towels or blankets. Only the area receiving the massage will be undraped. To ensure a good experience, it's important to communicate with your therapist to let her/him know if you require lighter or heavier pressure, or if you are feeling uncomfortable in anyway.
I hurt, or have a pain in my back, neck, shoulder, etc... Can you fix it?
We always do our best to help you feel better. Massage is a non-invasive therapy that manipulates muscle tissues to increase circulation, and encourage cellular and lymphatic flow. Massage can facilitate muscles to relax, thus easing tension on neighboring muscles and skeletal structures. Often this is all it takes for clients to feel relief from their pain or discomfort. If, however, the pain is chronic or deep seated in the tissues, it may take several sessions to feel longer lasting relief. It's important to note that massage therapists are not doctors and cannot diagnose medical issues or prescribe treatments.
I just experienced an injury or accident, can I get a massage?
For recent accidents and injuries, it's essential to consult your doctor before receiving massage.
Do I have to undress completely?
No. You can undress to your level of comfort. This simply means you can take off or leave on as many or few clothing items as you like. Many clients like to undress all the way, as clients are always fully draped during the massage. (We only undrape areas that are actually receiving massage at a given time.) Some clients are more comfortable leaving on their underwear. There are many techniques of massage that can accommodate fully clothed clients on the table if you are more comfortable that way as well.
What if I feel discomfort during my massage?
If you feel any discomfort, whether the pressure is too heavy, too light, if you need to change positions, or even if you need to get up and use the restroom, please inform the therapist right away. Your comfort is key to a good massage experience!
What service is right for me?
There are many services available and what you choose may depend upon your needs and your mood. Contact us a call and let us help you pick the right service.
Are couples massages good for introducing someone to massage therapy?
Absolutely. You don't even have to be a couple to enjoy a massage for two. Many friends like to come together, or family members new to massage will receive massage in the same room. It's a great way to introduce a partner, friend or family member to massage.
Do you offer manicures, pedicures or facials?
No. We specialize in massage therapies, bodywork and body treatments. We do have a Facial Massage Treatment that has some elements of a traditional facial with an emphasis on facial and scalp massage.
Can you accommodate groups?
Yes. We can accommodate small groups of up to 4 people. Please contact us in advance to schedule appointments, or for additional information.
